More Lincoln County results released

The 2009 Lincoln County 4-H Achievement Banquet was held Sept. 29 at the Agri-Civic Center in Chandler.
James Taylor, Lincoln County 4-H president, served as master of ceremonies. In the centennial moment of 4-H, members celebrated 100 years of traditions while building a new way of life for tomorrow.
“This is the highlight of the year with many of the members,” said Ross Sestak, Lincoln County 4-H Educator. “These members have worked hard in project, leadership in citizenship this past year and reaped the rewards of their hard work at the achievement banquet.”
Leader Service Awards were presented to adult volunteers for their contributions to the continuous excellence of their club work. Those receiving awards were:
One year — Emily Dornan, Stacey Knox, Michael Buoy, Matthew Buoy, Kelly Sapp and Ricky Sapp.
10 year leaders — Rachelle South and Shawn South.
15 year leaders — Debbie Terronez and Laural Martin.
25 year leader — Janine Thompson.
2009 Leader of the Year is awarded to Keri Coulson from the Wellston 4-H Club. Ross Sestak presented the county and State Public Speaking Award. Those receiving awards were: Intermediate Illustrated Peanut Presentation — Josh Fuqua, Chandler; Beginner Peanut Demonstration — Tobias Sapp, Wellston; Beginner Illustrated Dairy Presentation — Faith Thompson, Davenport; Beginner Dairy Demonstration — Mason Rickner, Agra; Intermediate Bread Demonstration — Justin Orner, Wellston; Intermediate Safety Demonstration — Christopher Orner, Wellston; Advanced Safety Demonstration — John Lawler, Chandler; State Peanut Award — Josh Fuqua and Tobias Sapp; State Junior Dairy Award — Faith Thompson; and State Senior Breads Award — Justin Orner.
Faith Thompson was presented with the County 4-H Junior Dairy Judging Award for the most cumulative points from the designated judging contests.
Ross Sestak presented the 2009 County 4-H Hall of Fame Candidates. The Top 5 2009 Lincoln County 4-H Hall of Fame candidates were, Mari Grim, Hannah Fuqua, Justin Orner, Jarrod Sestak and Jeffrey Terronez. With the announcement of the Candidates, County 4-H Trip Awards were announced.
Jarrod Sestak received delegate position to Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. James Taylor was selected as alternate, Jeffrey Terronez won delegate position to Denver Western Regional Round up, Hannah Fuqua received alternate, Mari Grim received the delegate position to The Kansas City Global Conference. Justin Orner received alternate.
Honorary 4-H memberships were presented to Patrick Norman, Davenport, and Marty Coulson, Wellston, for their contributions and support given to the County 4-H youth. Armitage Equipment Company and Mark Armitage were presented the Friend of 4-H Award for the outstanding support they have demonstrated to the young people of Lincoln County.
The highest level award a junior member in 4-H can achieve is the Outstanding Junior Award. This award is presented on merit of his or her record, project participation, leadership and citizenship skills. The two Outstanding Junior members for 2009 were Tobias Sapp, son of Ricky and Kelly Sapp, Wellston, and Josh Fuqua, son of Paula and John Fuqua, Chandler.
Lincoln County Senior Hall of Fame is the highest award that can be bestowed on a 4-H member at the county level. This award is presented to two outstanding individuals each year. The first inductee into the Hall of Fame was Jeffrey Terronez. Jeffrey is a six year member from the Davenport 4-H Club. His main 4-H project is beef and he is the 2010 Treasurer for the Lincoln County 4-H Teen Leaders. Jeffrey is the son of Kevin and Debbie Terronez.
The second inductee was Jarrod Sestak. Jarrod is a six year member of the Prague 4-H Club. His main project is agriculture which encompasses both registered and commercial cattle production and field crops. Jarrod was recently selected as the 2010 Lincoln County Teen Leaders President. He is the son of Krista and Ross Sestak of Prague.
