The Oklahoma State Department of Health says the number of deaths in the state associated with the swine flu has increased.

The Health Department reported on its Web site Thursday that three more people died between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31, bringing the number to 20 since the agency began its surveillance Sept. 1. Another death occurred in June.

Twelve of the deaths involved people with underlying medical conditions that may have increased their risk for the illness, including asthma, diabetes, obesity and compromised immune systems.

Health officials say seven of the victims were children under 19, and three of them had underlying medical conditions.

One case involved an infant less than six months old.
