The Wunagisa chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is seeking members interested in participating in patriotic activities, preserving history and working to help provide better education for children.
The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization that is dedicated to promoting patriotism, education and American history. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided American independence is eligible for membership. The National organization was founded in 1890 with the Oklahoma Society forming in 1908. The Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory had chapters as early as 1894. Today Oklahoma has 41 chapters statewide with more than 3,000 members.
