SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Less than two years after its doors opened, the Oklahoma Baptist University International Graduate School recently added a third offering to its lineup of master’s degree programs designed for working adults.
Working in concert with Vertical Learning Curve, a Web-based virtual-reality business training organization, OBU-IGS offers students the opportunity to earn a master of business administration degree in a unique online environment.
Accredited through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the new online MBA degree program places students in a virtual internship position with an Oklahoma-based company. Students gain hands-on experience and education in a virtual world filled with real-time deadlines, realistic co-workers and real-world obstacles.
“All of us at Vertical Learning Curve are delighted to support OBU’s mission and enhance graduate students’ educational experience at OBU-IGS through the use of VLC’s 3D virtual reality technologies and talents,” explained Dr. John Cragin, CEO of Vertical Learning Curve. “This exciting step continues OBU-IGS’s priority of offering quality adult educational programs to those within Oklahoma, the United States and around the world.”
The virtual-reality MBA degree program also lets students study from the convenience of their own computers anywhere in the world.
The program is designed to fit conveniently into any schedule, allowing students two to three years to complete the self-paced program.
“Through this cutting-edge MBA program, we are offering working adults a state-of-the-art education and equipping them with the tools they need to excel rather than just survive in the business world,” said Dr. Kyle Tresch, dean of OBU’s Paul Dickinson School of Business. “They will be able to take the principles, theories and ethics learned in their virtual internship and apply them directly to their real-world careers, making their education more practical and valuable.”
In addition to an online MBA degree, OBU-IGS offers MBA and master of science in nursing degree programs which meet one night a week for 18 months at the OBU-IGS downtown Oklahoma City location. Information for all three programs can be found online at http://igs.okbu.edu <http://igs.okbu.edu/> . The Christian liberal arts university has an overall enrollment of 1,753, with students from 39 states and 20 other countries. OBU has been rated as one of the top 10 comprehensive colleges in the West by U.S. News and World Report for 17 consecutive years and has been Oklahoma’s highest rated comprehensive college in the U.S. News rankings for 15 consecutive years.
