SHAWNEE, Okla. —

“When I saw that gun and he pointed it right in my face, I thought I was going to die right there, I thought I was dead,” a local store clerk said about a recent hold-up.
Shawnee police are still trying to identify a suspect who robbed the Kwick Stop, 822 N. Harrison.
Cpl. Heath Streater responded within three minutes of receiving the call.
The female store clerk told him she was standing just outside the front doors smoking a cigarette about 7:10 a.m.
Monday when she noticed a shadow of someone peeking around the northeast corner of the building.
The woman put her cigarette out and started into the store when a man came at her with a silver gun.
The clerk told police she got inside the store and attempted to close the door and lock it, but the suspect forced his way inside.
She said the suspect put the gun to her head, told her to get behind the counter and open the cash register drawer.
When she did, the man reached across the counter, took the money and ran out the door.
“He took the money and walked out the door like nothing happened,” the clerk said, adding they keep very little in their cash drawers, so about $52 was taken.
The suspect was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s and was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds.
He was wearing a dark tan Carhart jacket and a black zip-up shirt that covered up his face and nose, along with black cargo-pocked sweat pants with black gloves, the report shows.
He possibly had blonde hair and blue eyes, and had a deep voice, the report shows.
“He sounded like he was trying to disguise his voice, like make it sound deeper or something,” she said.
The case remains under investigation.
Friday, Detective Ronnie Wilson said they had not identified the suspect, so anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 273-0989.
