St. Gregory’s University announced the hiring of new full-time faculty and staff members during its annual campus community banquet on Wednesday night. Among the recent hires are Carl Hubbell, M.Ed., and Emmanuel Cruz.
Hubbell is the new director for SGU’s Partners in Learning Program (PIL). PIL offers academic support through specialized, individually designed services for students with learning differences. Hubbell, who recently completed the master’s program in literacy with Concordia University Texas, brings nearly 17 years of experience as a teacher in special education. He was most recently a teacher for the Austin, Texas, Independent School District.
Joining the staff as a resident director is Cruz. Cruz comes from the East Coast, where he had experience as both a resident assistant and resident advisor. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from State University of New York College at Oswego. Cruz also has completed internships with SUNY-Oswego, Newman Center and the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee. Cruz will be serving in a part-time capacity with SGU’s admissions office.
SGU is set to begin classes on August 26. New students are scheduled to return to campus Friday, while returning students will arrive on Monday.
