TECUMSEH, Okla. —

Tecumseh Public Library, 114 N. Broadway, will celebrate Pioneer Library System’s 50th Anniversary Tuesday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to a come-and-go, 1950s style celebration with ice cream floats and cake in recognition of the creation of the library system in 1958.
Library volunteers, donors and supporters will be recognized with corsages or boutonnières. The general public and library patrons are also invited and welcomed to join in the fun.
There will be games and family fun as well as musical entertainment provided by Norman guitarist Steven Streetman playing Rock and Roll oldies. A special viewing of a video celebrating Pioneer’s 50 Firsts from the First 50 Years will be presented. An exhibit of a recently opened 1983 time capsule will be part of the celebration’s attractions. Guests will receive souvenir tumblers (with or without their ice cream soda) and a series of commemorative bookmarks of Pioneer’s 50 Firsts from the First 50 Years.
Call the Tecumseh Public Library at 598-5955 for more information. Visit the Pioneer Library System Web site at www.justsoyouknow.us for details about anniversary celebrations at each of the system’s nine branch libraries in Cleveland, McClain and Pottawatomie counties.
