The Shawnee Family YMCA will host its sixth annual Supper with Santa, open to the public, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., today in the gymnasium, 700 West Saratoga.
The community-wide event is not specific to current YMCA members and will include indoor inflatables; entertainment by the Bricktown Clowns that will include face painting, balloon animals and “new surprises;” dancing entertainment from Stompin Sensation Studio; photos with Santa, who will arrive at 6 p.m.; and a drawing for a one-year membership to the YMCA.
Santa photo packages will be available for purchase through Tom Flora Photography.
“Supper with Santa helps fund scholarship programs we offer at the Y,” Tara Andrews, special events coordinator, said. “The scholarship program, a financial assistance program, is for people who want to become members but who cannot afford a membership.
Our mission is very important and is what we base all we do on and in keeping with that, we want to give everyone an opportunity to be a member with this financial assistance.”
The meal provided will include hot dogs, chili, dessert and drinks. Cost of the meal and activities is $2 for children ages 2 to 12 and $5 for adults and children 13 or older.
For more information, call the YMCA at 273-4386.
