The owners of Prague Community Hospital have picked the location for a new facility and are working out plans for the new hospital’s size and construction schedule.
Ron Stone, with HMC/CAH Consolidated, Inc., said the new building’s square footage and location would be determined within the next 90 days.
HMC/CAH Consolidated, Inc. “assumed ownership of the hospital operations in December 2008” and “a financing plan has been jointly established through High Point Capital Group — HMC’s Capital Partner — and HMC,” Joan Walters, Prague Community Hospital CEO, said.
“I am pleased that Prague Community Hospital is progressing in its plans for the new facility,” Walters said.
Once groundbreaking occurs, which Stone said he is hopeful will occur sometime in the late summer 2010, the facility should take about 12 to 14 months to complete. If all remains on schedule, it is possible the grand opening of the new facility could be held as early as the third or fourth quarter 2011, he said.
The new facility will completely replace the current hospital, but will provide “the same services, even better,” Stone said.
“HMC’s business plan, goal, is to outfit all its rural communities with hospital facilities that have state-of-the-art technology and provide a positive experience for visitors,” he said.
