A Shawnee was injured in a one-vehicle accident near McAlester Thursday afternoon.
According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Dwight Sims, 26, of Shawnee, was driving on Tannehill Road about 2.6 miles north of McAlester. Sims swerved to miss a vehicle in his lane and left the road striking a ditch, the report said.
Sims suffered head and trunk internal injuries and was admitted in stable condition to McAlester Regional Healh Center, the report said.
The accident occurred about 4:54 p.m. Thursday, the report said.
