Shawnee detectives continue to investigate the armed robbery of a local tanning salon.
According to police reports, a Caucasian male wearing a dark mask and black hoodie robbed an employee at Tanquility, 1510 N. Kickapoo, No. 9.
The suspect entered the salon about 9 p.m. Nov. 11 carrying a small silver handgun. He demanded money from the employee, a 21-year-old college student, the report shows.
She gave the suspect about $180 before he ran from the store, police reports show. He was chased by a customer to the area of Chapman and Ayre Streets, where she retreated her pursuit after the suspect allegedly pulled a gun on that witness.
Officers responded with dogs to search the area. They found the mask and hoodie and detained a man located in the area, but no arrests were made.
