OKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company will send two crews to help restore power in the Lafayette, La. area following Hurricane Gustav.
OGE spokesman Tim Hartley says the crews will help Central Louisiana Electric Company which has about 93 percent of its 277,000 customers without power.
OGE also assisted the utility after Hurricane Katrina and CLECO came to Oklahoma last December to help with power outages resulting from the ice storm.
A distribution crew of 53 people will focus on local poles and wires and leaves from Oklahoma City at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A transmission crew of 21 people will work on cross-country transmission lines and is to leave from Ada also at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
