Magician Steve Crawford is set to dazzle young audiences at two Pottawatomie County libraries this July with his program, “Circus of the Arts.” The performance is presented as part of the Pioneer Library System’s summer reading program for children, “Be Creative at Your Library.”
Crawford will share his magic at the Tecumseh Public Library, 114 N. Broadway, 2 p.m. Thursday. He will perform at the Shawnee Public Library July 14 at 2 p.m.
In “Circus of the Arts,” Crawford will share the art of balloon sculpture, improvisational acting, storytelling and juggling. Young audience members will have the opportunity to join in the fun throughout the program.
Crawford has made several television appearances and holds the world record for his two-second escape from police handcuffs. He has provided motivational assemblies to schools for more than 25 years. His shows celebrate individuality, learning and creativity.
“Magic is a fantastic way to help kids understand the value of art. Steve is great about teaching his audiences something new,” said Gary Kramer, public information officer at the Pioneer Library System.
The programs are free and open to the public.
The Pioneer Library System serves more than 300,000 residents in Cleveland, McClain and Pottawatomie counties.
