LAWTON, Okla. —
A Lawton police officer who shot and injured a man toting a BB gun has been cleared of wrongdoing.
Comanche County District Attorney Robert Schulte says he will not pursue any action against officer Albert Nease.
Nease fired two shots at Antonio Jones on Monday after arriving at the Lawton motel in response to a report of shots fired. Police say Jones was carrying what turned out to be a BB gun and refused to drop the weapon when ordered to do so.
Jones was hit once in the buttocks and was treated and released from a local hospital.
