Sine Nomine Choral Society of Central Oklahoma takes its show to Broadway in autumn concerts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, and at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at OBU’s Yarborough Auditorium in Raley Chapel.
Some of the most memorable and “singable” music of Broadway’s most popular musicals will be featured from “My Fair Lady” to “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Camelot” to “Spamalot.”
“We have some wonderful experiences planned for our audiences this year,” said Sara Ledford, artistic director. “We begin the season with familiar favorites and unknown jewels taken from ‘The Music of Broadway.’ The theater provides laughter and tears, hope and despair, love and loss — and this concert has it all.”
Many Sine Nomine members will be featured in special ensembles. Soloists include Peggy Argo, Jim Brown, Carla Carmichael, David Haverland, Rhetta Hudson, Tammy Lawson, Charles Lee III, Norma Partridge and Sara Ledford.
Tickets to the autumn event are $5 and the concerts will feature the popular audience sing-along.
Now in their 11th year, the 40-voice chorus is under the direction of Ledford, a Tecumseh native and graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University. Ledford earned two master’s degrees from the Eastman School of Music and is pursuing a doctorate at The University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Ron Lewis, retired professor of piano at Oklahoma Baptist University, is accompanist.
Next in Sine Nomine’s season is a free community event, “Christmas at the Aldridge,”  at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Aldridge Hotel in downtown Shawnee.
