Area Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts will gather donations of non-perishable food items to assist needy families during the Christmas season beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day Nov. 14.
Donation bags were previously left at area homes to collect food that will then go to the Shawnee Salvation Army.
Once the drive is complete, the Salvation Army will fill boxes with the donated food for families who have registered for help this year.
Bags should be placed where they are noticeable from the street and should not include glass containers.
For more information, or if a bag was missed during Saturday’s pick-up time, call Dirk McElfresh at 273-6758, Mike Askins at 613-5317 or Brett Askin at 275-9221.
