SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Tecumseh resident Romona Jo Melot, 64, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Oklahoma City.
She was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Martinez, Calif., to O G and Mae (Lane) Beason. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
She was married to Hilton L. Melot.
She was an office manager at Bill Laird Oil Co. for 28 years.
Romona was an energetic, amazing and determined woman. She lived her faith, and loved to help people. She showed an amazing strength and demonstrated “sacrificial love”. Family was the focal point of her life. She was always coming up with projects, loved to read, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed working in her garden and teaching her granddaughter how to cook. She was a University of Oklahoma football fanatic, and  liked garage sales and designing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Hilton Melot of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Devra Melot of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Madalynne Melot of Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law, Clarice Melot of Shawnee and Mickey Hunsucker of Austin, Texas; one brother-in-law, Charles Hunsucker of Austin, Texas; and numerous friends and other family members.
The family will gather to meet friends and family 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday with Dr. Don Rominger officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
