Tecumseh resident Robert Warner, Sr., 72, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 in Oklahoma City.
He was born Sept. 24, 1937 Bergen, New York to Chester and Francis (Hoffman) Warner. He was raised in New York, he and his wife moved to Oklahoma in July of 1977 and have lived here since. On Sept. 22, 1956 he married Barbara Chmiel in Batavia, New York. He served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and superintendent. He owned his own farm and did custom baling for many folks in this area. Robert was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where he served as president of the Men's Club, as well as being a member of The Knights of Columbus, Midwest City Chapter, and a member of the Shawnee Antique Tractor Club and the Spalding Tractor Club. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed a good day of fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-father, Vincent Weglarski.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Warner of the home; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert Warner, Jr. of Tenn., John and Denise Warner of Tecumseh, Anthony and Kathy Warner of Hennessey and James and Alicia Warner of Tecumseh; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Donald Toal of Holiday, Texas, Shirley and Darwin Lapp of Batavia, New York and Sandy and Ronald Barnard of Batavia, New York; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of friends.
There will be visitation from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Lucas Raj Pinapati officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
