Wanette resident Larry Wallace, 65, passed away Friday, Feb. 05, 2010 at his home in Wanette.
He was born on July 20, 1944 in Oklahoma City. He is the oldest of three sons born to John Henry Wallace and Sally Matilda (Lankford) Wallace. Larry grew up in South Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1962. Two years later on July 24, 1964, he married the love of his life, Linda Beckes. Together, they raised two children while making their home in Oklahoma City for their first eight years. In 1972, Larry and Linda bought a small farm west of Wanette were they live today. For the past 30 years Larry enjoyed raising and showing quarter horses as a hobby. He worked all of his life as a salesman. For many years he sold electrical supplies and in his later years he was a self employed salesman. Other hobbies that Larry had were fishing, traveling and planning his trips. Most of all, Larry loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Wallace; and an infant sister, Darlene.
He is survived by wife Linda of the home in Wanette; two children; daughter, Lisa Woods and husband Kyle of Guthrie; son, Landal Wallace and wife Rhonda of Noble; mother, Sally Wallace of Purcell; mother-in-law, Thelma Beckes of Rush Springs; two brothers, Dennis Wallace and wife Sandy of Wanette, David Wallace and wife Brenda of Wanette; seven grandchildren, Krystle Spaulding, Jacob, Jessica and Andrew Woods, Justin, Ethan and Ryan Wallace; two great grandchildren, Levi and Sammy; and many nieces; nephews; cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Officiating will be his nephew Paul Phipps. Burial will be at the Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Services.
 Pallbearers will be, Michael and Brian Phipps, Jacob Woods, Dwain Kirby, Bill Flueckiger and Barry Sanders.
