Tecumseh resident Carolyn Sue “Moon” Vanderburg Holt, 45, died Friday, Oct.30, 2009 in Shawnee. 
She was born June 15, 1964, in Burbank, Calif., to Gerold Wayne Vanderburg and Sandra Daleo.  The couple later divorced.
She was a longtime resident of both Shawnee and Tecumseh and also briefly lived in Arizona and California.  She was a 1982 graduate of Shawnee High School.
Carolyn was a skilled hairdresser and at one time owned her own salon.  She was well-known by her friends and family for her wonderful cooking and her specialty dishes were in much demand at social occasions and family get-togethers.  She attended Oak Park Church of God in Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Destiny. 
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Armenta and his girlfriend, Sherrie Ware, of Purcell, Chase McBain and his girlfriend, Kayla Jones, of Tecumseh, and  Brance Hurt, of the home; her parents, Gerold and Jane Vanderburg of  Shawnee, and Sandra Daleo, Bullhead City, Ariz.; her siblings, Darold Vanderburg of Henderson, Nev., Angela and Thomas Mitchell of Winfield, Kan., Beth and Richard Kirkland of Wichita Falls, Texas, John and Kim Vanderburg of Shawnee, John Neumann of Oregon; and Adam Neumann, Bullhead City, Ariz.; her grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Odell and Mary Ella Vanderburg of Shawnee; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The family is setting up a trust fund for Carolyn's youngest son, Brance, and has designated this fund as appropriate for memorials.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Oak Park Church of God, 11th & Pesotum, in Shawnee, with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating.
