SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Oklahoma City resident Frank Richard Walker died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in Bagram Air Force Base, Afghanistan at the age of 66.                               
He was born April 18, 1943, in Oklahoma City to Miles Ivan and Lena Mae Walker. He graduated from Del City High School, received a BS in Zoology at Oklahoma State University, MS in Biology at Emporia State, Kanas, BS in Geology at The University of Oklahoma and a MS in Environment Engineering at The University of Oklahoma.
He married Jeri M. Walker 27 years ago on Sept.4, 1982 in Tulsa.
 His early career was spent as a wildlife Biologist on the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge, in the Jordan, Mont., area, and Tinker Air Force Base – Geologist in Environmental Restoration Professor of Math and Sciences at Rose State College for 25 years in Midwest City. 
  He had completed four trips to Iraq and at the time of his death he was a Project Construction Manager for Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
   Richard was an avid hunter, fisherman, animal lover, and outdoorsman. He was a dedicated man who was willing to leave his own family behind to improve the lives of others overseas.
    He looked forward to returning home this spring to walk his youngest daughter, Stephanie down the aisle and retiring to his Montana ranch with his wife Jeri.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Mae, and stepdaughter, Keri Anne.
 Survivors include his wife Jeri M. Walker; father, Miles Ivan Walker; son, Frank Wayne Walker; daughters, Rhonda Kim Lincoln and husband Barry, and Stephanie Paige Walker and fiancé Robert Solnok; sister, Wanda Brown and husband Bob, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov.6, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Donald Wolf officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery.
