Sherman, Texas resident David Olan Crow, 84, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
He was born April 25, 1924 in Grapevine, Texas.
He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School in Tecumseh, Okla. He was a deacon at Richardson Baptist Church for 40 years. He had many friends and spread the work of Jesus Christ every chance he had. He recently moved to Sherman to live with his son, Tim. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, he was a real nature lover.
Olan was a great cook and prepared many fine meals for friends and family. He did a lot of bragging about how good of a fisherman he was but didnt “show much”...he teased a lot. He loved watching the Rangers baseball, Dallas Cowboys football, and the Mavericks basketball.
He is preceded in death by wife, Ercille Marie Farris Crow; daughter, Susan Gale Sarfit Crow; brothers, William and Harold; and sister, Mildred.
He is survived by his son Tim Crow of Sherman, Texas; grandson, Derrick Safrit and his wife, Kim and great-granddaughter, Brittany; grandson, David Safrit; brother, E.J. Crow and his wife, Nancy of Marlow, Okla.; brother , Floyd Crow of Tecumseh; and sister Mae Crow of Shawnee.
Family visitation will be at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee Street in McKinney, Texas, Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 12p.m. to 5p.m. The funeral service will be at First Baptist Richardson, Monday, July 21, 2008 at 2p.m. and burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dallas.
