Harvey Dean Moore was born Oct.10, 1934, in Shawnee. He lived his whole life in Pottawatomie County. After graduating from Shawnee High School, he was employed as an Assistant Manager at Humpty Dumpty Grocery.
On Nov. 14, 1953, Harvey was united in marriage to Carletta Brown. They had two children. After moving to Prague in 1960, Harvey was employed at the First National Bank (BancFirst). While attending church at Prague he was a deacon, bible school teacher, and church treasurer. He was a member of the Prague Lions Club for several years. Upon retiring, Harvey was an Executive Vice President and on the Board of Directors at the bank. He then joined his wife in her advertising business with Newton Manufacturing Company. Harvey placed his last order six days before retiring from this life on Nov. 15, 2009. The day before his passing, was Harvey and Carletta's 56th Wedding Anniversary. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Little for more than 20 years since moving back to Shawnee, he has been a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ted and Mamie Moore.
He was survived by his wife Carletta Moore ; two daughters, Betty Keesee and husband Tony Keesee and Janet Ince and husband David Ince; four grandchildren, Kayla Keesee, Kyle Keesee, Jared Ince, and Janaye Ince; one brother, Harold Moore; sister-in-law and husband, Earline and Glen Mayes; brother-in-law and wife, Howard and Lavonne Brown; mother-in-law, Louella Brown; four nephews and two nieces .
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview, with John Henley, Dwayne Dennis, Ted Moore, and Tony Keesee officiating the service.
