Longtime Shawnee resident, Rosa Lee Martin, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Shawnee.
Rosa was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Tulsa to William Eugene and Daisy Olive (Stites) Couch.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tecumseh. Rosa loved to cook for everyone, especially for her family. If you left her house hungry, then it was your own fault! She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Alfred Eugene Gruette; infant daughter, Carolyn Sue Gruette; brothers, Fred Couch and Donald Crouch.
Those left to cherish their memories are her children, Daisy Rainbolt and husband Delbert of Collinsville, Earl Steve Gruette and wife Evelyn of Shawnee, and Barbara Deleon of Shawnee; siblings, Charlene Watkins of Tulsa, Betty Plumber of Tulsa, Mary Jo Higgs of Texas, Bertha Luna of Shawnee, Jess Couch of California, Jimmy Couch of California, and Billy Couch of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Mack Peercy officiating.
