Beloved mother of 5 generations, Vallie Sarah Hough, 89, passed from this life on Friday, Nov.6, 2009 in Shawnee.
She was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Lisbon, Ohio, to James L. and Mary M. (Snow) Robinson. During World War II, she served our country by working as a Rosie the Riveter and by working in the canteen.
She married Joseph W. Hough and they spent 20 loving years together before his death in 1990. Vallie was a wonderful cook and had prize winning bread and butter pickles.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Those left to cherish their memories are her children, Helen Roisum and husband Robert of Mcloud, June Simon of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jack Robinson of Orange, Calif.; grandchildren, David and Julie, Mark and Joyce, Gene and Lynn, Christina and Jonathan, Christopher, and Billie Jean; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
