SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Shawnee resident Velda Ringer, 76, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 in Shawnee.
She was born July 31, 1931 in Marlin, Okla., to Walter and Helen (Rhodd) Tade. Born in Marlin, she grew up in Tonkawa, Pearson and Shawnee.
She married (L.D.) Darrell Ringer. Following their marraige, they moved to Shawnee, where they raised their family and later moved to Bethel Acres. She worked as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She enjoyed camping & traveling.  The main focus of her life was her family.  She loved to read, sew, and enjoyed her flowers and cats.  She also collected wind chimes and angels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters: Laverne Witt & Ruth Wright; a brother: Charles Tade; and a granddaughter: Rachelle.

    Gloria & Curtis Magruder of Seminole
    Marci & Ray Utter of Shawnee
    Debra & Danny Moore of Norman
Son & Daughter-in-Law: Lloyd & Joan Ringer of Shawnee
Brother & Sister-in-Law: Earl & Peggy Tade of San Bruno, CA
16 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, along with a set of twins due in November; and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 with Rev. Kris Steele officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
