Prague resident Rose Dunn passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at the age of 98. Rose was born Oct. 11, 1911, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., to parents Samuel Walker and Lova May (Patterson) Downs.
Rose married Leonard Dunn on Feb. 5, 1947 at Henrietta, Texas.
Rose moved to western Oklahoma at a young age, she lived there until 1967 when she moved to Prague.
Rose was a member of the Church of Christ of Prague. She worked at the Department of Human Services. Rose was also a livestock auction owner and cattle rancher.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard on Feb. 22, 1985; two sons, Tommy Scroggin, Gary Dunn and daughter, Kay Dunn.
Rose is survived by three daughters, Norene Lawson of Cordell, Joy Hoover of Carrollton, Texas, and Sherri Carpenter of Prague. She is also survived by son, Lenny Dunn and his wife Sharon of Shawnee. Rose is survived by sister, Nell Scoggin of Vernon, Texas; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, July 29, at Lone Star Cemetery in Rocky, Okla. Grandsons will be acting as honorary casket bearers.
Funeral service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Shawnee.
