Gaye Higdon, 80, of Shawnee, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at her home.
She was born June 11, 1931, in Maud to Raymond and Naomi (Strickler) Baylis.
She was a graduate of Harjo High School.
She was married to Francis Higdon. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Gay was a homemaker. She lived in Shawnee most of her life.
She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and an oblate at St. Gregory’s Abbey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Lavoy Baylis.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Danna Higdon of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Joe Townsend of Atoka; son, Stan Higdon of Luther; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
