Copan resident Max William Black, 56, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at his residence.
Max William Black was born on Sept. 12, 1953 in Oklahoma City to Max Matthew and Imogene (Ginn) Black. He was raised in Southern Oklahoma and graduated from High School at Macomb. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Robin Wood on June 6, 1992 at Copan. He worked as a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.
Max is survived by his wife Robin of the home; three sons, Michael Wayne Black of the home, Jason Eric LoIacono of Tecumseh, and Ryan Douglas Johnson of Plymouth, Ind.; three daughters, Kristie Elaine Black of Tecumseh, Maxi Jean Black of Copan, Shellie Anne McGuffee and her husband Kris of Colorado Springs, Colo., his mother Imogene Black of Macomb; one brother, Dewayne Black of Asher; one sister, Lola Karen Skinner of Macomb; eight grandchildren. He was loved and honored by many friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Bible Baptist Church in Dewey with Pastor J.D. Steelman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb, under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home andCrematory in Bartlesville. Memorials have been established with either the Bible Baptist Church, 16170 Highway 123, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006 or the Education fund for his son c/o the Arvest Bank, Dewey, Oklahoma 74029
