Kerry Susan Farris, 66, of Shawnee, died Sunday, February 19, 2012, at McLoud Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Selma, Calif., to Kenneth and Merle (Bayse) Kenyon.
She graduated from Fresno High School in 1963 and attended Fresno State University.
On June 11, 1966, she married John Farris.
Kerry was the secretary, financial supervisor and administrative assistant to the president of Mennonite Brethren Seminary in Fresno, Calif.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She dedicated her life to her family, church choir and activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Richard Russell.
Survivors include her husband, John Farris of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Johnelle K. and Clifford A. Smith of San Leandro, Calif.; grandson, David Wayne Smith of San Leandro; sister, Candace Diane Lane of Fresno, Calif.; nephew, David Russell of Clovis, Calif.; and great-nieces, Madison Russell and Caitlin Russell, both of Clovis.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Walker Funeral Chapel with Dr. Todd Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
The family has designated the Alzheimer’s Association as appropriate for memorials.
