Ada resident Thelma Marie Lamb, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her son's home in Shawnee.
She was born July 9, 1931 at Steedman, Okla., to Walter and Sally Coffman Horn. She lived in the Ada and Allen area most of her life, graduating from Steedman High School.
She married James Lamb in 1949. He died in 1960. Mrs. Lamb worked in retail sales and with the Asher Public Schools as a school cafeteria worker for 15 years and later retired as a food service employee. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, James and Ronnie and a daughter, Sandra Spears.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Glover of Anchorage, Ark.; three sons, Larry Lamb of Asher, Dennis Lamb of Shawnee, and Danny Lamb of Shawnee; 22 grandchildren; and a large number of great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday Nov. 5, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Brady officiating. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home in Ada. Bearers will be her grandsons, Chad Lamb, Keith Lamb, Shawn Lamb, Dalton Lamb, Danny Ray Lamb, and Dillon Lamb.
