Moore resident John “JW” William Arthur Murray, 83, died Wednesday Aug. 6, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Murray was born June 13, 1925 in Luther to Otis and Mary Ethel (Warren) Murray. He was reared and educated in Arkansas and Texas.
He married John “Johnnie” Dell Patton June 9, 1949, in Van Buren, Ark.
He served in the U.S Navy during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He had worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a Quality Inspector.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include his three daughters and two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law, Teressa and Bobby Cearley of Moore, Schretta “Sam” Navin and Stephine Taylor of Moore, Shirley and Sam Kuhlman of Oklahoma City; brothers and sisters, Herman and Geneive Murray, Lorene Bedoora, Dorothy Cruise; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie Garner, Dorothy and Welton Glass, Patsy Ann and Don Woodall, CH Huff; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with Chaplain Dan Weaver, Faith Hospice, officiating.
