I am writing to you in regards to my daughter. She attends Sequouah Elementary School. She had an incident in school on Oct. 26. She was playing on the monkey bars when three boys from the same grade came over and hit her in the stomach and hurt her. She fell down off the monkey bars onto the dirt, then the three boys had jumped on her back. They ripped the shirt that she was wearing and her pants were full of mud. They hurt her back, left wrist. These boys beat her up for no reason at all and her teacher didn’t do anything about it and just blew it off like it never happened. I was never informed about this incident. The school never called me to say that my daughter had gotten beaten up in school. When she came home from school, she was very upset about this. She also told me that the boys had been bothering her all week long and none of the school staff had did anything about it.
The next day I had gone to the school to speak with the principal about this incident with my daughter. He barely spoke with me and didn’t show any kind of interest in this situation, the only thing he said was sorry. The other parents weren’t notified about this incident. I had wanted a meeting with the school and the other parents and I was told that it wasn’t necessary to have a meeting. I also had called the superintendent of the school, she also wasn’t able to help me. The only thing they did was say sorry. This incident needs to be addressed cause this is considered being bulled by other kids. I do not feel the school has a safe environment for the children that attend.
What is the school doing about educating the children not to be bullying other children.
