I was approximately 90 percent sure that Philip Maddocks’ editorial in Saturday’s paper, “Obama accused of demonizing those who say he is Muslim” was a satire piece, similar to those written by the fake-news organization “The Onion.”
But the fact that I remained somewhat unsure of its veracity is descriptive of the sad state of our current political and cultural discourse.
So, the News-Star and Mr. Maddocks may have “gotten me” or it may have been printing a rhetorical oddity from the land of our bizarro political world. I pray to God that it was the former.
