This is another reminder that Steve Burrage, Oklahoma’s State Auditor and Inspector, on Thursday, (tomorrow), will present a free non-nonsense informative session that reveals the high stakes hazards of fraud and theft in an organization. The session will be at the Greater Shawnee Chamber of Commerce beginning at 11:30 a.m. For those wanting lunch, the cost is $10. For attendees not requiring lunch, the session is free.
The presentation by Burrage is being sponsored by Youth and Family, the Shawnee Chamber and the Local United Way.
Susan Morris, of Youth and Family, advises that Burrage himself conducts these seminars.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners estimates the annual cost of internal theft in the U.S. is seven percent of revenues. Nationwide, that amounts to $994 million, the association states.
To register for the seminar Nov. 5, please contact Joy at Youth and Family at 275-3340 or e-mail joy@hopehouseonline.org.

Wanda Hill passes along information about a new ministry at Trinity Baptist Church, 1315 N. McKinley, is beginning. The church is seeking all military families to come to a community Thanksgiving dinner this Sunday, Nov. 8.
She said Trinity would like for all military families to contact 273-4319 and leave a message to let the church people know if they are coming to church at 10:45 a.m. and staying for Thanksgiving lunch at noon Sunday (immediately following morning worship). They need to know the number in your family in order for them to provide enough food. They are asking the military families to advise them by this Friday, Nov. 6.
Hill explained “Trinity members want to honor our military families through enjoying lunch with them and to see how we may be of service to them while they are serving our country.
“We want the military families who are here to know that while their loved one is serving that we want to serve their family in any way that we can,” she added.
She said Trinity Baptist Church has Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.; morning worship at 10:45 a.m., evening worship at 6 p.m. and Prayer Meeting and Children’s and Youth programs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Hill advises to call 273-4319 for further questions or information.
