Questions about recycle bins
My question is at the recycling sites, especially on North Kickapoo, if people just throw their plastic in there that’s not a number one and two or if they put the colored glass with the clear glass, does that ruin the whole batch or does someone go through it again?
Who you gonna call?
Twice you’ve been published without publishing my comment about a streetlight. So let the following simply be my comment/question. How does one get a streetlight turned back on? The light has been off for three weeks now. What can we do to get it back on?
Proof is in the visit
In response to the voting no on taxes, I would like to invite all the non-voters to visit the Shawnee High School the next time it rains and see the trashcans and the buckets in the hallways and in the classrooms catching the raindrops. We can’t wait until we get the other one paid off. If we do, we’ll be building a new high school if we don’t fix the roof now. No teacher should have to teach and no child should have to learn worrying about dodging the drops. Come on, Shawnee, we need to do this as a community for the kids. After all, they are our future. A mom of a 2009 graduate and a future 2014 graduate. Vote ‘yes’ on getting a new roof, please.
‘Perfectly good’ road ruined
I want to second the article in the paper today about what they’ve done to Rock Creek Road. Our road was perfectly good, now if you go out to your mailbox and a car comes, you have to turn your back or you get hit with the little pieces of stone. I don’t have a broken windshield yet but I have dings all over my car that I did not have before. I do not understand why we wasted money to ruin a perfectly good road.
Likes real estate information
I want to express my thanks for putting in the real estate transactions and also the county and city court statistics. Thank you very much.
Thanks, Brad
I’d like to thank Brad Henry for being such a good governor and wouldn’t it be good if Kim would run the next time?
Tax break not enough reason to shop local
It’s going to take more than a sales tax holiday for me to shop in Shawnee — a better selection of stores and nicer retail clerks — the clerks in Shawnee are so rude. I will shop out of town any day to avoid Shawnee.
