Kudos!
Way to go Brian Newell. You told it like it is. That’s the best article I’ve seen in a long time. Thanks for telling the truth.

Power with natural gas
I just finished reading the guest editorial by Ray Belford on Page 6A of today’s paper, Aug. 20. I agree exactly with everything he said. We should’ve been using natural gas for years in powering our vehicles. It would certainly relieve the impact of imported oil.

Teamwork brings out best in people
I loved R.V. Beasley’s letter to the editor on health care. I was reminded of all the government-run entities in our lives and how lost we would be without them. And I’m reminded of what we did in the past. We were cooperative, we formed communities, we worked together and calling it names is wrong. It’s when people are at their best when they get together to do something and I loved her letter.

What about the Korean War?
I was just wondering why none of the Korean [War] veterans ever speak up. My husband was in the Korean War and he went in right after high school in ‘49, ‘50, ‘51, and I think 1952. And you never hear anything about the Korean War and I just thought some of the veterans should speak up.

Tired of lies
I agree with Lora Davis letter to the editor, Sat. Aug. 22. I’m tired of the lies of the elected officials. They keep saying that they think we need to do something to our health care but they don’t say what. It’s time everybody quits listening to Rush Limbaugh, he doesn’t care what happens to our health care. He’s a millionaire.
