Reader: Isn’t it unlawful to dump dogs in the country?
Question for Scoopie: We live south of Tecumseh about 15 minutes and was wondering what we could do about people dumping animals there? Is it against the law to dump dogs?

Watch out!

If we were not so naive as not to discuss the possibility the economic downturn was created then we’d be better prepared to foresee what’s coming next.

Thanks for Hero stories

Thank you for the stories on heroes. We really like to read that and we like our Shawnee News-Star. Thank you for keeping it so interesting.

Don’t like it
I don’t think I like your taking the President’s comments and tearing them apart. You didn’t do that to George Bush. He was the one of the people that took our nation down and you didn’t do that to him. I don’t know if we’ll keep taking your paper.

Broken promises all around

You Howard Hall people might be upset over Obama’s broken promises, but why weren’t they upset by George Bush’s promises that he kept at the expense of putting our country in debt to China, Japan and Saudi Arabia? They own us now and it’s mighty scary to me.

Little too sexy for youth
I noticed in the March 24 paper that the Shawnee Elite volleyball team was wearing leopard pattern pants. That’s starting to look a little too sexy for a high school team whose colors are not leopard pattern. Seems like this would be against school policy.

Where’s Tri-County?

Hey you’re missing the most important part of your paper — I look to see Tri-County Speaks. That’s the only thing on that page I read. I know people are calling in so get on the ball.

I’d just like to know you keep running the number for Tri-County Speaks when I myself and other folks call and it never gets put in the paper. I did not use profanity, I did not direct my comments to any person or anything. Why bother to have it in the paper if you’re not going to put it in?

Voice your opinion
This is my opinion, but all of us parents that paid for our girls to try out for cheerleaders should ask for our money back. Two of the girls who tried out wrote a list of threats and were suspended three days. Read the bylaws. Come to the board meeting in April and let your voice be heard.

Please open for early bird
I was wondering if the town of Tecumseh realizes how much business they lost by opening at 9 a.m. How come they can’t open at 8 a.m. like everyone else?

Well-deserved honor
What a well-deserved honor for Mr. Blochowiak with the darling picture of little Trysten Rawls. That is a well-deserved honor. Very good job.

Street maintenance

Too bad the city of Shawnee does not have a street maintenance department. The streets in Shawnee are, by far, the worst in any town in the state of Oklahoma.

Love ed’s photos

Tuesday’s paper was the nicest paper I have seen you print in a long time. That gorgeous little boy — that made my day. We need more things like that. Thank you, Mr. Blochowiak. You do well when you get pictures of flowers when you drive down the road, at the lake, children, and what have you.

proud of SHS teen
I was so proud of Alie Walsh for her stand on God’s special children. I’ve watched Alie grow up. My oldest son is one of God’s special children, so my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been taught to love God’s special children. If the mean-spirited people would change their ways, they would see how perfect God’s special children are in heaven.

Thanks for the pancakes
I would like to thank all the Kiwanis and 4-H members who presented the Pancake Feed. Fantastic, terrific job. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again next year.
