Unless it’s fixed, how long until Medicare goes broke?
I’m an independent and I’ve been watching television and reading the paper about the health care. I just went on Medicare and I’ve been asking myself, if something isn’t fixed with Medicare, how long will it last after seven or eight years when it goes broke?

I’m from McLoud and I’m really happy Tecumseh got a McDonald’s. I sure wish McLoud could get one. That would be great.

Thank you to Mr. Crain for letter to the editor
I want to say a big thank you to Mr. Crain for his letter to the editor. I have two daughters who are teachers and each has said they would quit their profession if they were forced to join the NEA. Please wake up parents before it’s too late.
Want more for the money after water rate increase
If we’re going to have to pay more for water in Shawnee, I’d like to see additional money-saving options on my water and trash bill. What about offering smaller trash carts and billing by the size of the trash cart. It would give those of us who do recycle a reward for having less waste. If I’m going to have to pay more, I want more for my money.
Situation would be different if Bush was speaking
All these people who complain about President Obama speaking to schoolchildren would be having quite different comments, if they said anything at all, if former President Bush announced that he was speaking to schoolchildren. They would probably think it was wonderful.
Great idea for president to encourage students
I just want to say that I think it’s a terrific idea for the president of the United States to encourage students to complete their education and excel.
Where did high school recycling receptacale go?
There was a container to collect and recycle newspapers and paper — it was located at the south end of the high school football stadium — can you tell me where it has been moved to?
Disagree with water rates, running businesses away
I absolutely, totally, totally disagree with the raise in the water rates. I absolutely cannot believe that Shawnee keeps running all these businesses away.
Unhappy with interchange prospect at Bryan Road
I absolutely, positively, positively disagree with an interchange at I-40 and Bryan Road. I live off of Bryan Road and 45th Street and I do not want a four-lane road there and a bunch of commercial industry. Who do we need to contact? We need to contact them now.
