Tecumseh raising utility rates, again?
I just read where Tecumseh is raising utility bills 5 percent. It would be comical how greed that is if it wasn’t so painful.

I just want to say thank you to the Shawnee P.D. There’s been a lot of burglaries between the 800 and 1000 block area. The Shawnee P.D. has been on top of it. Youngsters are probably involved. Just wanted to say, “Good going guys.” Keep pulling them over and seeing what they’re up to.
Road work suggestion
In preparation for the road work to be done on Kickapoo Street: I would suggest we open up Independence at U.S. 177 like it used to be.
Where’s Ann Landers?
Why have you stopped Ann Landers? You took the comic strips out and now Ann Landers isn’t in here.
Scoopie’s response: We do not print the Ann Landers’column. We do print the Dear Abby column each day and we have not stopped printing that. But the Ann Landers’ column hasn’t been part of our newspaper.

A huge thank to members of the Immanuel Baptist Church for the wonderful Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Also, has anyone thoughts of returning those eggs to the church so they can reuse them for next year?
Where’s the Bible Verse
I would like to know if you’ve taken the Bible verse out of the newspaper. I understood it was going to be on the same page as the obituaries ,but I can’t find it anymore.
Scoopie’s response: We have not taken the Bible verse out of the paper. It missed a couple days of being in the paper last week, but we are taking steps to ensure that it is in the paper daily.
Careless?
Today on U.S. 177 I followed behind a woman police officer, security guard or some type of law enforcement and watched her throw her cigarette out the window with the extreme fire danger and winds.
I’m wondering how in the world could she have been so careless and thoughtless?
