I take exception to your article in Saturday’s paper titled “Santa gets help providing for children overseas.” I am sure the title was added by a staffer with the newspaper. You see Operation Chrismas Child is not about helping Santa. It is about reminding a child in need that God loves them and they have not been forgotten. These gifts are packaged by people who care and want to help the needy. They are not doing this because they are Santa’s little helpers.
Santa is a figment of our imagination and is not real. If we are doing these things in his name, then we are doing a disservice to our Lord and these children. What good would it do to give these gifts in the name of Santa and then as we all learn when we grow up that he is a hoax.
Operation Christmas Child is of God and not of Santa. Let’s leave Santa to the pagans and Christmas to God where it belongs. When was the last time you heard Santa praise our Lord or even recognize the fact that Christmas is about the birth of our Lord and Savior?
Our society demands that we pay tribute to Santa, the Easter bunny and even witches on Halloween. America used to be called a Christian nation by the rest of the world and our own citizens. We are not a Christian nation now. We are ruled by the pagans. We are a Godless society bent on ruin and destruction. We can pray that God helps this nation, but my fear is that we will get what we deserve.
