Why are Shawnee’s gas prices so high?
I would just like to know why Shawnee’s gas prices are so high when in Oklahoma City gas is down to $2.16 a gallon.

Thanks for letter
Thank you Jean Edwards Hill for your letter in the Shawnee News-Star on Sunday, Sept. 13. It was nice to read the truth in the newspaper.

Tecumseh utility prices too high
In the Tecumseh utility office, the sign says, “no profanity.” I’m a great grandparent who’s never spoken profanity but that bill always double what it should be, I can see where they need the sign. It’s really a struggle every month for the past few years to get by with what they charge. I keep hoping someone will say, “Whoa, let’s do this right,” but not yet.

Contact information for interchange project
We noticed in the paper that there was a person in Tri-County Speaks who was unhappy with the interchange prospect at Bryan Road and asked who do we need to contact to let them know that we oppose it. There are many people in Woodsong and Woodsong Gardens who oppose that and the person who wrote in said we need to contact them now, so would you please print who to contact so that we can object. Thank you very much.
Scoopie’s response: You can write to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, attention Dawn R. Sullivan, Environmental Division, 200 N. E. 21st Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73105.

Article hit nail on the head
I want to comment on this article today in Friday’s paper, “So much for morals.” That is a wonderful article by Mr. Bradley. It pretty much says it all and it is one of the most comprehensive coverings of all aspects of Obama’s administration and I really thought he did a wonderful job.

What are students learning?
I just seen on TV, on CNN, where only one student out of five knew who our first president was and they don’t even know how many justices are in Oklahoma. This is pitiful. What are our teachers doing? Are they teaching? We’re going to be a third-world country if we don’t start doing something about it.
