Another step closer to socialized, government controlled, Obamacare, came to pass on Oct. 13, as the Senate panel passed the sweeping health bill.
On to the debate and more wasted time by our elected representatives. This has risen to the height of unconscionable actions displayed by elected officials sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States. When will they, and some of us, understand what they are doing to this wonderful country? Let’s try and frame a few concerns for those who need help.
The first argument some, including me, focus on is the federal government’s authority to move forward with such a program. Are they authorized to make such laws? No! Some say the phrase from the Preamble to the Constitution “Promote the general welfare” gives the government the authority. There is considerable difference between promote and provide. This does offer room for interpretation but to make them equal is a liberal interpretation at best. If the founding fathers had meant provide, I think they were wise enough to state it.
The next is that point of abortion being included in the bill. Some say it’s not included because Obamacare proponents and he said it wasn’t. Surprised again? I hope not. Unless something changes between now and hopefully no passage, your taxes will be paying for abortions. You just can’t say it isn’t so without personal review. Dan Boren stated he couldn’t support the bill because it didn’t prohibit taxpayer funding abortions. If it isn’t expressly written as an exclusion, it’s included. You can bet your last dollar it will be included.
The final point to stress is the exclusion of illegal immigrants from participating in Obamacare. Proponents say illegals are excluded. I challenge anyone to show us the text so stating and how this will be enforced. Everytime the issue of Photo ID is mentioned, it’s quickly defeated. So who is fooling whom?
However, in all of this, we cannot get past our first point. This entire undertaking, if passed, is unconstitutional and isn’t within the authorities of the federal government to enact such legislation. We really should have a recall, get a refund on our taxes, and pay it all toward the massive indebtedness they have created over the last nine months.
Nobamacare for this American; leave me with my gun and Bible, you can have the change!
