Our Republic is critically ill. Ask my doctor, nurse or hospice worker about the signs of impending death of a critically ill patient and they will list: Cessation of kidney function; lack of warmth in the extremities; fluctuating heart and blood pressure rates; and shallow breathing to name just a few.
Our body politic today has a pandemic of infection and corruption. Many elected Senators and Congressmen have swallowed the hemlock of bribes and special favors to secure their temporary support even though it will most likely lead to their political suicide.
They were bought, bribed and bullied not by Dr. Kevorkian but by party leaders. The kidneys were designed by our Creator to void poisonous waste. Washington is sadly promoting and retaining behavior that was once unthinkable.
America was once a unified nation. In spite of our differences, we embraced the warm belief that all are created equal. Today we have laws being openly and blatantly passed which favor special interest groups who have political capital, clout and certain political support. We are quickly moving ‘from the land of the free’ to the land of the favored few. Our once warmth of equality is dropping rapidly.
The heart of America is the engine of free enterprise and capitalism. The government has clogged the arties of our collective heart by controlling much of the private sector. Ironically, the passage of the Universal Health Care measure would slow and maybe stop this heart.
The spirit of America, our lungs, was started by courageous patriots who longed to breath free. This essential function is still being preserved by out brave body guards of freedom around the world. We need a deep breath of freedom if we are to survive. Let’s make sure Washington hears our breathing and understands our heart!
