July 4th! Picnics, parties and pyrotechnics with friends and family to celebrate the anniversary of another 3-day weekend! That sounds harsh, but 120 years of Progressive attacks on the Declaration of Independence have diminished the holiday.
Woodrow Wilson said, “Some citizens of this country have never got beyond the Declaration of Independence …The Declaration of Independence did not mention the questions of our day. It is of no consequence to us (Progressives).” Their goal is to progress beyond the limits in our founding documents to build an “evolved” government where “efficient administration” teaches the people what is in their best interest. Wilson and FDR were both early admirers of efficient European fascism and Wilson’s propaganda machine was the model used by Joseph Goebbels to spread the National Socialist (Nazi) gospel.
Our Founders overturned the divine right of kings with the radical concept that We The People are at the top of the political pyramid. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Now taught by some schools as “endowed… with,” using a McDonald Publishing textbook, “by their Creator” being words too harmful to our children, or more rightly to the Progressive agenda.
Bank, automaker and health care takeovers, bailouts, and stimulus with massive new bureaucracies are the evolution of “efficient administration” that is destroying our founding principles. The majority are against these power grabs, but as the Declaration says, “Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”
The declaration continues; “whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.” Just as Dr. King prevailed by exposing government repression, we must peacefully stand holding a mirror before the face of progressive tyranny to restore the honor of our country.
