Clean up red boxes
A good place to start with the clean up Shawnee project could be the cleaning up of the debris around the red collection boxes scattered around town and also the regulation of them.
More notice requested
I noticed in the paper the other day that it was time to pick up floral decorations at one of the cemeteries in town and I thought, “Well, I’ll go pick mine up at the Tecumseh cemetery.” When I got there, there were no decorations to pick up; they had all been removed. I think we need to have a little bit of notice before they’re done. I have lost 11 wreaths and sprays and it’s aggravating that we didn’t get notice ahead of time.
Must see movie
Friends and neighbors, please take your children and grandchildren to see the movie, UP-3D. It is touted as a child’s film, but it is for all ages, especially the “greatest” generation. It’s a little pricy, but worth it. I’m 75 and have seen it twice. Take tissues.
Keep driveways clear
People that go to garage sales shouldn’t have to be reminded not to block driveways, but apparently some people need the reminder. So please, do not park behind driveways when you’re going to garage sales or anything else in the neighborhood for that matter.
