SHAWNEE, Okla. —

The Shawnee Fire Department is flushing and inspecting the city’s 1,400 fire hydrants, a process that will take several weeks. Work continues today between Independence and MacArthur Streets, all west of Kickapoo Street. The increased water flow may cause temporary water discoloration in some areas.
