Photo gallery: Up, up and away at kite festival

The Chinese Multimedia Society held its sixth annual East Meets West Kite and Cultural Festival on Saturday and Sunday at Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester. The festival featured a 33-foot long American flag trailing a 300-foot dragon kite, along with Eastern- and Western-inspired kites.

The event also included kite-making workshops, flying demos, kite giveaways and other cultural performances and activities.
