MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — —

Jason Kubel’s three-run homer highlighted an unruly seventh inning in Minnesota’s 10-6 victory over Chicago on Thursday night.
The game was stopped for several minutes when fans threw hats and baseballs onto the turf and had the White Sox running for the shelter of the dugout.
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire punted his hat over his head after third base umpire Marty Foster tossed him in the seventh for arguing a called strike on Denard Span, and fans responded by tossing dozens of hats, and several baseballs, onto the field.
White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen quickly pulled his players off the field, and the Metrodome public address announcer warned the announced crowd of 31,493 that the Twins were risking a forfeit if the behavior continued.

Angels 12, Yankees 6
NEW YORK (AP) — Torii Hunter, Vladimir Guerrero and Juan Rivera hit three-run homers for Los Angeles, which continued its East Coast romp.
Coming off a three-game sweep at Boston in which they scored 22 runs, the Angels hit three three-run homers in a game for the first time in 30 years. Los Angeles improved baseball’s best record to 68-40 with its 11th victory in 13 games since the All-Star break.
Andy Pettitte (12-8) allowed nine runs and 11 hits in 5 1-3 innings.

Indians 9, Tigers 4
CLEVELAND (AP) — Fausto Carmona won for the first time since May 12, and Grady Sizemore had four RBIs to lead Cleveland.
Carmona (5-3) made his second start after spending two months on the disabled list with a hip injury. He was rocked for nine runs in 2 1-3 innings when he rejoined the rotation last week.
A 19-game winner last season, Carmona was charged with two runs and five hits in 6 1-3 innings. The right-hander hadn’t won since shutting out Toronto nearly three months ago.
Reliever Rafael Perez got an inning-ending double play in the seventh and struck out the side in the eighth.

Mariners 8, Rangers 5
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey limited his former team to two runs and six hits pitching into the eighth inning, and Adrian Beltre homered for Seattle.
Dickey (3-6) had lost his previous three decisions, but was in control against a lineup that entered the game with a team batting average of .282, tops in the majors. He struck out two and walked one in 7 2-3 innings.
The 33-year-old right-hander was with Texas for parts of five seasons.
Ichiro Suzuki tripled and doubled for the Mariners, who had lost nine of their previous 11 and seven of the last nine against the Rangers.
Ramon Vazquez homered and added three RBIs for the Rangers, and Chris Davis went 3-for-4.
Texas rallied in the ninth, cutting into an 8-2 deficit on Vazquez’s RBI single and Frank Catalanotto’s two-run double. But Mariners closer J.J. Putz, in a non-save situation, got the final two outs.

Phillies 8, Nationals 4
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jimmy Rollins and Jayson Werth homered, and Philadelphia stretched its winning streak to five games with an 8-4 victory over Washington on Thursday night.
The first-place Phillies completed a three-game sweep of the injury-riddled Nationals and took a one-game lead over idle New York in the NL East.
Washington has lost nine straight, tying this season’s longest streak and the worst skid since the Nationals moved from Montreal in 2005.
Rollins was 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs.
Kyle Kendrick (9-5) earned his first win since July 1, giving up two runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings.
Werth’s solo homer and Rollins’ RBI groundout helped the Phillies go up 3-0 in the second. Rollins hit a two-run homer in the fourth to give Philadelphia a 5-2 lead.
Ryan Howard and Pat Burrell added RBI singles in a three-run sixth that gave the Phillies an 8-2 lead. Washington helped the Phillies by making three errors, two of which led to runs off starter John Lannan (6-11).

Braves 9, Cardinals 4
ATLANTA (AP) — Rookie Clint Sammons homered and drove in three runs for Atlanta, which snapped a five-game losing streak.
Sammons, who was called up from the minors on Monday, picked up his first career RBI in the fourth, singling in a run that tied the game at 3.

Marlins 12, Rockies 2
MIAMI (AP) — Anibal Sanchez won his first start in 15 months, and Hanley Ramirez and Jorge Cantu hit home runs for Florida.
Sanchez allowed two runs and six hits in 5 2-3 innings to win in his first start since May 2007. A shoulder injury that required surgery last June sidelined him for most of last season, after he won 10 games, including a no-hitter, as a rookie in 2006.
Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa (5-6) retired just five batters, his shortest outing of the season. He left after allowing six runs in the second, including two on walks with the bases loaded.
De La Rosa gave up five hits, walked four and hit a batter.
He allowed a two-run single to Jeremy Hermida and Dan Uggla’s two-run double.
Ramirez homered in the fifth to make it 11-1.
Troy Tulowitzki, who entered the game batting .556 (20-for-36) since coming off the disabled list July 21, went 0-for-5 for the Rockies.
