SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Shawnee’s varsity volleyball squad knocked off Tecumseh 25-13, 25-11, 25-17 Monday at Shawnee Middle School.
“We played consistent and steady but we did not have the big intensity and power we have had in the past,” SHS head coach Jessica Palmer said. “Tuesday is another big play date for us. We face McAlester again, and it is our last opportunity against a 5A team before regionals. We need our power to be a force early on in the games, but we seem to be waiting until mid-game or until the end to really start working.”
Shawnee will take on Clinton at 4 p.m. today, then oppose McAlester at 6. Clinton and McAlester will tangle at 5 p.m.
In two other matches with Tecumseh Monday, Shawnee’s junior-varsity won 25-15, 25-16, while the freshman squad prevailed 26-24, 25-21.
